Adventi Group names Chance as new CEO

Adventi Group, one of Scotland’s leading technology solutions and services providers, has announced the appointment of Eddie Chance as its new Chief Executive Officer. Eddie takes up the position in succession to John McAleenan, who is stepping down from the role.
Eddie joins Adventi from Oracle Corporation UK Limited, with whom he has worked for 19 years, latterly holding the post of Country Leader for Scotland, as well as being Area Vice President Technology Sales for Scotland and the North of England. In addition to his role at Oracle, Eddie is the Chairman of ScotlandIS, the trade body for Scotland’s ICT industry and is a Council Member of CBI Scotland.
Commenting on the appointment, Adventi’s chairman, Peter Shakeshaft said: “We are delighted we have managed to attract such a strong CEO to Adventi. Eddie brings with him a huge wealth of experience at running an industry-leading technology company in Scotland, as well as being a well-respected member of the Scottish business community. He brings undoubted technical and business strength to the role and it is a testament to the underlying strength of the Adventi business, and its management team, that Eddie has chosen to join us. This is an exciting time for Adventi and we are very optimistic about Adventi’s future with this first class appointment.
“I would also like to take this opportunity to thank John McAleenan, the outgoing managing director, for his contribution to Adventi Group over the last three years and, prior to its acquisition by Adventi in June 2005, as managing director of Scotsys since 2000. In total, John has spent over 17 years with the business and has made a tremendous contribution to the group’s performance. He steps down from the role with the business very well-positioned for the future.”
